Mikky continues to show wonderful images from his African Safari trip earlier this year. With the thousands of photos taken, he is working his way through post-processing the wealth of wildlife images. I am envious of what he has shown so far – this month’s portfolio are a bird photographer’s dream.

Mikky shared photos from his recent trip to Africa. These are images he took of Victoria Falls, some from a helicopter. Many of his images are panoramas because of the size of Victoria Falls. Animal photos from his African Safari will be share soon as he processes them.

Mikky has a future African safari trip planned so he’s been practicing with a new camera and 100-400mm zoom lens. Although mirrorless cameras and lenses are supposed to be smaller and lighter, his Nikon system will test his baggage packing efficiency. The airlines to Africa have difficult weight restrictions to meet. But when traveling on such a once-in-a-lifetime photography safari, you want to bring gear that will capture the best images. Here are his practice images, many from San Diego’s Safari Park. His male lion photos are a rarity since I’ve never seem him during my many visits.
