Jim’s photography has been pretty eclectic lately, but he thinks of the themes when approaching making photos. Some techniques like selective color are done post-processing. But he does pursue street photography with themes like repeating colors – none lately. Here are the images he shared this month:
Cathy shared silhouetted and backlit photos this month. She included ‘select color’ apple blossom and Sensorio images. Her approach to photographing the Sensorio hillside light installations is wonderful. Photographing them early in the evening before the lights came on.
Barbara shared silhouettes and a wonderful backlit Baboon photo which she asked for some ideas on how to process it. Apple Photos turned out a little better than Lightroom in a quick edit. She also shared some selective color, local wildlife and a humorous street photo – “Working Dog”. Here are her pics:
Mikky shared a great collection of flower images – all of them beautiful and several exceptional.
Barbara shared a few thematic photos – leading line wake of her cruise ship, leading line runway lights at sunrise, and a vermillion flycatcher framed by branches.
Jim traveled to Sacramento to catch a couple San Diego Padres away games against the Sacramento/Las Vegas Athletics. During his outings before the night games, he focused on this month’s themes when photographing Old Sacramento.
John shared a couple images he took that combined both themes – flowers and frames. Clever, creative fun when you can combine themes into a single image.
Gary shared some wonderful color and b&w landscape photos that used frames and layers. Dramatic cloud layers make his b&w images extra special (and what all us landscape photographers wish for). He also added a lush green & red ocotillo photo for the Flowers theme.
Our resident iPhone photographer shared some wonderful, colorful flower images. She’d be a great ambassador for cell phone camera artistry.
This month’s Flower theme celebrates Spring season and the beautiful blooms it brings. Many meeting participants shared some colorful photos of flowers. The secondary theme was Perspective: leading lines, layers, and framed-in-frame, standard compositional elements for photography. Here are the images shared this month:
