This month’s photography themes were Favorites of 2024 and Passion Projects.Some participants shared their favorite images from previous meetings, some were re-processed images seen earlier, and some were new images. Either favorites taken during 2024 but not shown or Passion Project images that a photographer has compiled but not shared. Here are the images that were shared this meeting:

Barbara shared a few of her favorites of 2024 which happen to also be her passion, bird photography. She is always to document wonderful interactions with bird during her walk-abouts.
Sharon shared some of her favorite images from 2024 and some extras that she hadn’t shown before.
Mikky shared a passion project portfolio of portraits that is a fantastic group of images. He did no post-processing so these are straight out of the camera.
Jim shared his favorites of 2024, some seen before but re-processed, and others that were overflow from previous meetings. Meaning, with the 10 image limit per meeting, these were ones that were cut for time.
Harold, our newest member, shared his passion projects and some images supporting them.

Heather shared these images, some her favorites of 2024 and others her passion – capturing emotions, expressions, and interactions between people.
Jim used a small on-camera flash and long exposure to both freeze and blend time, a technique he hadn’t used in a long time. The results are unpredictable but, fortunately unlike film, when using a digital camera, you can review the results. Then adjust the flash intensity to blend with ambient light and subject distance to reduce the flash “blitz”. His favorite shot almost didn’t happen – the Naruwan Taiko drummers were performing for December Nights so he photographed the finale of the show using a slow shutter speed and flash. Although he took several shots, one was a keeper.
Jim also shared a photo from a Lake Skinner Thanksgiving trip & hummingbird photo taken at the zoo before December Nights. Here’s the images he shared:
