Heather loves capturing people and their interaction or reaction. Her take on the SD Fair was capturing people amonst the chaos and noise. The June 11th evening meetup was actually very uncrowded so the chaos and noise is worse on the weekends & July 4th. Here are her photos:
Gary shared some photos from his recent road trip to Bodie and Yosemite. He also participated in the SD Fair meetup and was so inspired, went back to take more images. He caught some great images of people’s reaction to the rides. Bodie images definitely benefit from being presented as black&white. He also has a rare (in recent years) panoramic image taken from Glacier Point in Yosemite. This road has been closed for quite awhile. He used his iPhone to pan the scenic horizon.
Barbara was unable to make it to the Fair meetup but shared a Mission Carmel image and some fantastic Shelter Island Osprey Nestling photos. Here are her images:
This month’s themes were images of the California Missions and the San Diego Fair. We had a meetup June 11th at the SD Fair Photography Exhibition to review accepted photos. After the ribbon award announcements, a few of us wander the Fair in search of some evening and night photos. Here are the images shared at the meeting:

Cathy shared some photos of Mission Carmel and a previous Fair photo with a wonderful sunset. Whwn traveling she often relies on her iPhone as her main camera. These are great examples of how even-better cell phone images can look with a little post-processing. Here are the photos she shared:
Gary shared photos from his annual Spring Yosemite trip. He shared some wonderful campfire abstract images as well as Vernal Falls. Others followed the silhouette and Spring is In the Air themes.
Our May themes were silhouettes/backlit, selective color, and “Spring is in the Air”. Silhouettes and/or backlit are self-explanatory. Selective color can be a couple of things – photos with one specific dominant color, black&white image with a single color visible, or any artist’s interpretation. “Spring Is In The Air” would be any photos displaying the Spring Season. Sharon has been sharing some wonderful photos of prints she’s made. Although many fit the monthly themes, they definitely stand on their own. She shared an original image, image inverted, and the image processed with salt & sugar crystal technique. We miss the film and darkroom days…

Jim’s photography has been pretty eclectic lately, but he thinks of the themes when approaching making photos. Some techniques like selective color are done post-processing.
